An expedite load is mode of transportation for freight that needs to be quickly delivered by ground. The freight can consist large manufactured parts to small documents. An expedited load can be a local delivery just a few miles or even a cross country, coast to coast trip with team drivers.
An expedited load can be fulfilled by one of four asset types: 1.) a cargo van 2.) a sprinter van 3.) a small straight 4.) a large straight. What is the difference between a cargo van, a sprinter van, a small straight, and a large straight?
The difference between a pallet and skid is based on the construction. A pallet has four boards for the base that extend from each corner while a skid only has two boards as a base.
Pallet
-
Dimensions are usually 48″ X 40″
-
Consists of a base extending from all four corners.
-
More difficult to drag due to the base having four boards
-
Better for stacking due to rigidity
-
Easier for a forklift to move
Skid
-
Dimensions can vary based on construction requirements
-
Does not have a bottom decks which makes it easier to drag
-
More flexible than a pallet
Large Straight
A large straight can carry up to 10,000 pounds and up to 12 pallets.
Small Straight
A small straight can carry up to 5,000 pounds and up to 6 pallets.
Sprinter Van
A sprinter can carry up to 4,500 pounds and up to 4 pallets.
Cargo Van
A cargo can carry up to 3,000 pounds and between 1 – 2 pallets.
Qmodi Score is a rating system 1-5, 1 being the worst and 5 being the best. It creates a new layer of transparency for the industry. The goal is to hold all the stake-holders operating in the industry more accountable.
An Asset can have a Qmodi Score. For example, if the Asset breaks down during a load, then the rating of the asset must be affected negatively. Reliable assets must be identifiable. Take good care of your assets with regular maintenance to avoid break downs.
A Qmodi driver score is a numerical ranking system from 1-5 (1 being the worst and 5 being the best) which objectively ranks drivers based on arrival performance. A driver who is constantly on-time to locations will have a better rating than a driver who is constantly late to arrivals. Qmodi collects data from a drivers’ geolocation combined with the time stamp to create a statistic. The Qmodi Scores are shared with users of Qmodi.
Here are the definitions of each star:
Driver abandoned the load.
Driver was 24 hours late.
Driver was late.
On-time: 1-30 minutes early.
Great driver experience!
The Qmodi software is designed to bring more transparency to the industry. Currently, the industry does not provide statistics on the performance of a particular location. We have automated a way to begin collecting entry times and exit times on every location. By ranking location by their efficiency, we will bring a new layer of transparency that will enable to industry to make better decisions driven by accurate data.
At every location the primary data we are collecting is:
- a longitude and latitude coordinates when the driver checks into a location
- entry time and exit times of a geofence
- Qmodi rating by the driver
Qmodi uses your tracking data to make better predictions about accurate delivery times.
You are probably wondering what information we can collect and why we need it. The primary data we collect is longitude and latitude coordinates and a time stamp. With these data points we can begin to make better predictions about the time taken between two points or multiple strings of points. Our goal with this data is to form our own analysis of prediction based on commercial vehicle travel. Currently, Apple and Google do not collect such data.
Qmodi uses tracking data to collect data on the locations you visit.
Because Qmodi is collecting time stamped longitude and latitude coordinates, we are able to record data on every location you deliver to. Our goal is to use the data you share with Qmodi deliver more transparency within the industry. Drivers, Motor Carriers, and Brokers are help to standards and a rating system, yet we don’t have such data available for each location. The data you share with us will help create a Location Performance metric.
Qmodi uses tracking data to share your breakdown location.
Unfortunately, it happens. One of the great benefits of using Qmodi is our ability to precisely predict where your breakdown is occurring. Your dispatch team can send a special breakdown link to a wrecker or a tow company with your GPS coordinates. Now the wrecker or tow truck company can update you with their ETA and you can see exactly where they are.
Qmodi is a company that provides a software service (SAAS) for the logistics industry. The software will track the shipment of ground cargo in real time. We collect data on every load and turn the data into information we share; some information we share exclusively with our users and some information we make available to the public.

The software has the following functions:
- Tracking
- Document Management
- Asset Management
- Load Management
- Market Analytics
- Communication Automations
